미상원 회기개회식 기도문 - 미국 상원 회기 개회식에 드려진 기도입니다

이 기도문은 미국 뿐아니라 우리의 영적 현주소를 고백하는 내용으로 가슴을 치게 합니다. 

 

♡ This interesting prayer was given in Kansas, USA,at the opening session of their Senate. 

* 이 놀라운 기도는 미국캔사스에서 있었던 상원 개회식에서  드려졌는데요.

 

It seems prayer still upsets some people. 

이 기도가 아직도 사람들을 흔들고 있는 것 같습니다.

 

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard: 

*조라이트 목사님이 캔사스상원 회의 개회사를 하도록 부탁받았을 때 모두들 일상적인 내용을 기대하고 있었습니다. 

그러나 그의 개회사는 다음과 같았습니다. : 

 

 "Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness  and 

to seek your direction and guidance. 

*하늘의 하나님, 우리는 오늘 하나님의 용서를 원하고 인도하심을 구하기 위해 오늘 이곳에 왔습니다. 

 

♡We know Your Word says: "Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done.* 

우리는 "악을 선하다고 말하는 자는 화가있도다." 는 주의 말씀을 기억합니 다. 그런데 우리가 바로 이 말씀대로 합니다.

 

♡ We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.*  

*우리는 영적인 균형을 잃고 가치관이 뒤집어졌습니다.

 

♡We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.

* 우리는 당신 말씀인 절대적 진리됨을 업신여겼습니다. 그러면서 다원주의라고 불렀습니다.

 

♡ We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.

* 다른 신들을 섬기면서 그것을 다문화주의라고 불렀습니다.

 

♡ We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle

.* 우리는 성적인 타락을 인정해주며 그것을 또다른 라이프스타일이라고 불렀습니다.

♡ We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

*  우리는 가난한 사람들의 것을 빼앗으면서 (착취)  '로또당첨'이라고 칭했습니다.

 

♡ We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

* 우리는 게으름을 보상하며 이것을 복지라고 불렀습니다.

 

♡ We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

* 우리는 태속의 아기를 죽이면서 이것을 부모의 선택이라고 칭합니다.

 

♡ We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

* 우리는 불법낙태시술사들을 연호하며 이것을 정당성있는 것이라고  말했습니다.

 

♡We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem

* 우리는 자녀를 훈육하고 가르치는데 소홀히 하면서 (자녀들 인성 교육을 소홀히 하며) 이것을 그들의 자존감을 세우 는 것이라고 불렀습니다.

 

♡We have abused power and called it politics.

* 우리는 권력을 남용했습니다. 그러면서 그것을 정치라고 불렀습니다.

 

♡We have embezzled public funds and called it essential expenses

* 우리는 공금을 횡령했습니다. 그러면서 필수경비라고 말했습니다.

 

♡We have insitutionalised bribery and called it sweets of office.

* 우리는 뇌물을 제도하시켜놓고서 그것을 "행정 사탕" 이라고 불렀습니다.

 

♡We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

* 우리는 우리 이웃의 소유를 탐냈습니다. 그리고 이것을 야망이라고 불렀습니다.

 

♡ We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of ｅxpression‎.

* 우리는 경건치 않은 삶과 포르노로 우리의 공기를 더럽혀 놓고나서 그것을 표현의 자유라고 불렀습니다. 

 

♡ We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. 

*우리는 우리 조상들의 오랫동안 존중받은 가치들을 농락해놓고서 그것을 개화라고 말했습니다.

 

♡Search us, Oh GOD, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!" 

*오 하나님 우리를 살펴보소서. 이제 우리의 마음을 알아주십시오. 

그리고 모든죄로부터 우리를 씻으시고, 우리를 자유롭게 해 주소서. 아멘!    

 

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out  during the prayer in protest. 

*반응은 즉각적으로 나타났습니다. 많은 행정당국 의원들이 항의하는 표현으로 기도중에 퇴장했습니다. 

 

♡In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor,  logged more than

 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. 

*6주라는 짧은 기간동안에 라이트가 목사로 있는 중앙그리스도 교회는 

47명의 부정적인 반응을 제외하고  5000통이 넘는  지지 전화를 받았습니다. 

 

*주님의 도움으로 이 기도가 전국에 퍼지고, 진심으로 우리의 소원이 되어서 

"하나님의 주권 아래 하나된 나라"라고 불릴 수 있기를 원합니다.
